Demi Lovato In Kansas City For The X Factor

Born Demetria Devonne Lovato August 20, 1992 in Dallas, Texas, Demi plays Sonny Munroe on the Disney Channel Original Series “Sonny With a Chance.”

Demi began her acting career like her friend Selena Gomez on “Barney & Friends” with a recurring role as Angela on seasons 7 and 8. In 2006 she had guest starring roles in television series like “Prison Break” and “Just Jordan.” In 2007 Demi landed a recurring role in the Disney Channel Original Short Series “As the Bell Rings” as Charlotte.

Alongside the Jonas Brothers in 2008, Demi starred as Mitchie Torres in the Disney Channel Original Movie “Camp Rock.” Demi also began starring in the lead role, Sonny on the Disney Channel Original Series “Sonny With a Chance” around this time. Demi then reprised her role as Mitchie in the Disney Channel Original Movie “Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam,” which won a People’s Choice award for Favorite Family TV Movie. Demi also took home a People’s Choice award for her guest starring role on ABC’s hit drama “Grey’s Anatomy.”

Demi starred alongside Selena Gomez in the Disney’s made-for-TV movie “Princess Protection Program.”

Demi released her debut album, Don’t Forget, in 2008 with Hollywood Records. The album debuted at #2 on Billboard’s Top 200. She was the opening act for the Jonas Brothers on their Burning Up Tour and went on her own headlining tour in 2009. In 2010 Demi toured with the cast of “Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam” and she plans to tour again soon as well as release a new album titled “Unbroken.”
